College Advising Advocate

Hi there, I’m Kaitlyn

I'm an Independent Educational Consultant and the founder of College Advising Advocate. I have experience helping all kinds of students apply to college, especially those pursuing degrees in the performing arts. I've earned a Bachelor's degree from New York University's Steinhardt School, a Master's degree from George Fox University, and I am currently completing my Certificate in College Counseling from the University of California, Los Angeles.
My inspiration to become an IEC comes from my own college application process. I remember vividly the stress of filling out applications and writing essays. Also, because I applied to musical theater programs, I had to complete an in-person audition for every school to which I applied.
Today's high school students face an even more complex and stressful process. I do more than just offer a service. I want to connect with, understand, and form relationships with students in order to truly know their needs and hopes for the next few years of their educational journeys. As a former teacher, I have the skills necessary to assist students in presenting the best versions of themselves to colleges and universities. I want to guide students through the college application process with honesty, sound advice, and individualized care. It is important to me to help each student find the best possible educational outcome for their situation, ensuring they maintain their integrity and hopes for the future.
